Mount Rainier National Park

Description

This photo was taken during the first day of our first visit to Mount Rainier National Park. It was the stereotypical cloudy, foggy, and misty type of day you would expect in the Pacific Northwest. Our first hike was just a short mile-long skip on the Nisqually Vista Trail to get our legs moving after the flight and drive out the day before. With so much fog we didn't expect to see much, as in the open air there was only a few feet of visibility. However, once in the trees, the fog opened up enough to surprise us with a small family of two fawns and their mother. Keeping our distance, this gave me the perfect chance to test out my newly purchased zoom lens, in which I caught the shot of the doe stepping out from behind this tree.
